May 2010 Walk

Things to know about this walk:
1. The opportunity for several special events (see below).

Plattsmouth

5K and 10K

Start Location

Picnic Shelter at Clayton T. Rhylander Park
6th Street and Lincoln Avenue
Plattsmouth, Nebraska

Start/Finish Times

Start between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Off trail by 2:00 p.m.

Event will be held regardless of weather conditions. No refunds will be given.

Award

"A" award is a patch. Only 25 will be available.

Award/IVV Credit $6.00
IVV Credit Only $3.00
Fun Walker (no credit) $1.50

Eligibility

All ages are welcome. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Trail Rating/Description

5km (3.1 miles) and 10km (6.2 miles) trails will be available. Walk is rated 2. Trail will be on sidewalks, city streets and park trails.

Pets

Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash and under control. Pets are not allowed in buildings. Service animals are welcome anywhere, of course. Please be prepared to meet the needs of your companion.

Directions to start/finish point.

From north or south on Highway 75 -- take Highway 34 east to 15th St. Be careful at traffic circle. Turn left on 15th Street (also 34 east) to 9th Ave (first traffic light on 15th Street). Turn right on 9th Ave (may not be a sign to your left is 8th Ave) and go to Lincoln Ave. Turn left on Lincoln Ave to park entrance on your right -- just a short distance before 6th Street/stop sign.

Stipulations

With registration for this event, the participant accepts the guidelines for AVA Volkssport events, agrees to observe the principles of good sportsmanship, and will not litter. At the start of each walk each person must obtain a Start Card (with the exception mentioned above) which must be carried throughout the walk and must be filled out with the participants's name and address. The card is to be validated at the Control Point(s). Walkers missing a control point may be refused credit. All Start Cards are the property of the Nebraska Wanderfreunde Trailblazers and should be turned in at the completion of the walk.
