Saturday, March 6, 2010 Annual Soup Walk Things to know about this walk: 1. This is our annual soup walk we ask participants to bring two (or more) cans of soup to the walk - one to share after the walk and one for a local food bank. We use chicken noodle and vegetable beef to share. 2. Allow some time to visit and enjoy some soup with fellow walkers. 3. The church does not have a parking lot. Street parking is available in the neighborhood. Omaha Nebraska        5K and 10K Start Location St. Barnabas Church 129 N. 40th Street Omaha NE Start/Finish Times Start between 9 a.m. and 12 noon Off trail by 3:00 p.m. Event will be held regardless of weather conditions. No refunds will be given. Award "A" award is a patch. Only 25 will be available. Registration Costs Award/IVV Credit $6.00 IVV Credit Only $3.00 Fun Walker (no credit) $1.50 You may pre-register no later than March 1. No refunds. Payment should be made by check payable to: NWFT PO BOX 8147 OMAHA NE 68108-8147 Eligibility All ages are welcome. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Trail Rating/Description 5km (3.1 miles) and 10km (6.2 miles) routes will be available. Trail is along city streets and sidewalks. Walk is rated 1+. Pets Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash and under control. Pets are not allowed in buildings. Service animals are welcome anywhere, of course. Please be prepared to meet the needs of your companion. Directions to Start/Finish point. From the east on Dodge St. go to 40th St and turn right. Church will be on your right. From the west on Dodge (there are no left turns on this part of Dodge St.) Street go to 39th St. Turn right on 39th St to Farnam St. Turn right on Farnam St to 40th St. Turn right on 40th St crossing Dodge street to Church on your right. From east or west on I-80 take the 42nd St exit and head north. Go north on 42nd St crossing Dodge St to Davenport St. Turn right on Davenport St. Church is on southeast corner of junction of 40th and Davenport St. Special Programs Historic Churches Stipulations With registration for this event, the participant accepts the guidelines for AVA Volkssport events, agrees to observe the principles of good sportsmanship, and will not litter. At the start of each walk each person must obtain a Start Card (with the exception mentioned above) which must be carried throughout the walk and must be filled out with the participants's name and address. The card is to be validated at the Control Point(s). Walkers missing a control point may be refused credit. All Start Cards are the property of the Nebraska Wanderfreunde Trailblazers and should be turned in at the completion of the walk.
